The Boston Gallery: Wild Order: Studies in Natural Form

<p>The Boston Gallery is a flagship initiative of the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Arts in the Park program, enriching visitor experiences and strengthening community connections through visual, cultural, and performing arts programming in partnership with artists across Northeast Ohio. Curated in partnership with the <a title="Museum of Creative Human Art (MoCHA)" href="https://museumofcreativehumanart.org/">Museum of Creative Human Art (MoCHA)</a>, the <a title="Boston Gallery" href="https://www.conservancyforcvnp.org/experience/gallery/">Boston Gallery</a> features rotating exhibitions of nature‑centric artwork, refreshed several times each year.</p> <h4>On Exhibit: Wild Order: Studies in Natural Form</h4> <p>Nature has long served as a source of observation, but Wild Order looks beyond representation to explore the systems, rhythms, and material intelligence that shape the living world. Bringing together five contemporary artists working across printmaking, mixed media, drawing, and painting study, the exhibition examines how organic forms are translated, reconstructed, and reimagined through distinct artistic practices.</p> <p>Rather than depicting nature directly, the works engage with its underlying logic growth, repetition, adaptation, and balance. Botanical studies, layered compositions, relief surfaces, and three-dimensional painted forms reveal how natural structures can become visual languages, where observation gives way to interpretation.</p> <p>Moving between order and unpredictability, the exhibition embraces the tension between careful construction and organic evolution. Nature emerges not simply as subject matter, but as a catalyst for making, shaping process, material, and imagination. Wild Order invites viewers to slow down and consider how the patterns of the natural world continue to influence the ways artists see, build, and transform their surroundings.</p> <p>Curated by Yana Mikho-Misho, this exhibition features works from artists Yasmeen Kwan, Pavla Margo, Christopher Owen Smith, Juliette Thimmig, and Rebekah Wilhelm. </p>

<p>The Cuyahoga Valley Photo Society (CVPS) is an activity of the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The CVPS promotes Cuyahoga Valley National Park through the photographic arts, primarily by providing educational opportunities through workshops and presentations.</p> <p><strong>This Month: Himalayan Journey in Nepal</strong></p> <p>Join us for a captivating journey to the heart of the Himalayas! Photo Society member Paul Mallue will share stunning photography and personal stories from his trek to the Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal. Beyond the trails, Paul will provide a deep dive into Nepalese culture, geography and the inspiring story of earthquake recovery in Kathmandu. Don’t miss this chance to experience the beauty and resilience of Nepal through his eyes.</p> <p>Paul has been a dedicated member of the Cuyahoga Valley Photographic Society for 12 years. He credits the Society's monthly meetings and educational programs with both inspiring his creative journey and refining his technical skills. An avid nature photographer, Paul specializes in wildlife – a with a particular passion for birds – as well as landscape and macro photography. He frequently shares his experiences and techniques with the community, including presentations to school groups and as a participant in CVPS programs. He continues to seek out new photographic opportunities through global travel, aiming to capture the unique beauty of diverse environments.</p>

Habitat Restoration - Volunteer Invasive Plant Removal

<p>Are you looking for a way to get involved at Cuyahoga Valley National Park? Join us for our <a title="Invasive Plant Removal Drop-in" href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/invasive-plant-removal-drop-in-september-16-registration-1998895920507?aff=oddtdtcreator">Invasive Plant Removal Drop-in</a> to improve habitat for native plants and wildlife. Invasive species overcrowd native species, making it difficult for them to thrive. Your efforts will help improve soil quality, restore native plants, and create better habitat for native wildlife. Drop-ins are a great opportunity for both first-time and veteran volunteers to get involved in their national park.<br /> <br />You will use hand tools such as loppers and saws to remove invasive plants. Suitable for ages 10 and up. Volunteers who are 10-15 years of age must have parent or guardian supervision at the project site. Volunteers who are 16-17 years of age are only required to have a parent or guardian sign their Volunteer Agreement form.<br /> <br />**Advanced registration is required for all individuals. Only volunteers who pre-registered will be permitted to participate. Outdoor work gloves and eye protection will be provided, but volunteers are permitted to bring personal equipment. We will have a water cooler. Please bring a refillable water bottle.</p>

Nature Rx: Mindfulness Walk

<p>Join the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park for a mindful nature walk at Oxbow Meadows with Jessica Kanya! This gentle walk through the meadow and to the Cuyahoga River will invite you to move mindfully and focus on the sounds around you. How may you listen joyfully without judgement?</p> <p>What is a mindfulness walk? While we may be tempted to get our steps in or consider every walk a workout, a mindfulness walk invites you to slow your pace and employ your senses to take in the natural world around you. Mindfulness walks can take on many forms, sometimes silent or practicing breathwork. Other times, isolating one sense at a time. In these moments, you are encouraged to let go of the stresses of the day and simply enjoy the natural environment.</p> <p>Accessibility note: This program takes place on primitive, mowed paths with slight elevation change. Participants are welcome to bring trekking poles or a hiking staff for added support. As noted above, mindfulness walks are intentionally slow-paced with frequent stops for discussion. It is a great option for those looking for a more accessible outdoor experience at CVNP.</p> <p><em>This event is part of the Nature Rx program. Lake Sturgeon Release Celebration

<p>UPDATE: RSVPs to release a sturgeon have filled. A limited number of additional fish may be available for walk-up participants on the day of the event, but availability is not guaranteed. Nature Rx: Autumn Equinox Yoga

<p>Join the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park and celebrate the Autumn Equinox by practicing yoga outdoors in nature.</p> <p>Kim Scott Sowinski, 500 RYT, will lead you in soothing twists and balances, to integrate the left and right side of your body. Hip openers help to release and settle, honoring the Earth's seasonal turn toward rest and regeneration. This quieter and softer practice will help you embrace surrender, grace, and trust as you turn inward toward rest and respite.</p> <p><em>This event is part of the Nature Rx program.
