<p>The Death Valley '49ers Encampment is a multi-day event that focuses on Death Valley and Western history, lore, music, and art. <br /><br />The Encampment includes a vendor/exhibition fair, guest speakers about history and geology, Western music performances, cowboy poetry, star gazing, etc. </p>

<p>We Are Still Here is a recent documentary film about the Timbisha Shoshone Tribe. </p> <p>This viewing will be followed by questions and answers with Jimmy-John Thompson (a tribal council member) and Mandi Campbell (former Tribal Historic Preservation Officer). </p> <p>This event is a portion of the events celebrating the 100th anniversary of Stovepipe Wells Resort. </p>
