Back to School Junior Ranger Day
<p>Join us at Guilford Courthouse NMP for our third annual Back to School Junior Ranger Day. There will be hands-on children's activities at the Greene Monument Lawn. The Carolina Colonial Dancers will also demonstrate 18th century country dancing and allow guests to join them in learning a dance. <strong>Complete two activities and earn yourself a Junior Ranger badge! </strong></p>
<p><strong>The first 150 Junior Rangers will also receive free school supplies from our friends at the Maggie McBride Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution! </strong></p>

<li>Throughout the fight for independence, patriots developed covert techniques to deliver hidden messages right under British noses. Junior Rangers will uncover the process behind sending undetectable letters using invisible ink and will write their own secret messages using a similar method. They will then dive deep into the world of codes and ciphers and decode hidden messages in primary source documents. Put your spy skills to the test!</li>

<p>Carolina Colonial Dancers Performance and Dance Instruction</p>

<li>The Carolina Colonial Dancers will perform a dance and invite guests to learn and dance with them. Children are encouraged to attend. </li>

Lokalizacja: Activities will occur outdoors near the Nathanael Greene Monument located near Old Battleground Road and the Atlantic and Yadkin Greenway. Carolina Colonial Dance performance will occur in the Visitor Center.

<p>Guilford Courthouse National Military Park seeks volunteers to help with a big project: a biodiversity study of our park’s waterways!</p>
<p>Over the weekend of September 12 and 13, 2026 citizen scientists can assist the National Park Service and the Deep River Riverkeeper by helping us identify species that live in our creeks and springs. This project will help the park update our long-term species catalog for future park natural resources planning. Plus, you'll receive a special sticker for your hard work! Anyone 16+ years old and able to walk through wooded areas and creeks may participate.</p>
<p>Whether you have a niche interest in macroinvertebrates, freshwater wildlife, or just love being outdoors, we encourage you to join us!</p>

Veterans Day Commemoration Battlefield Hike
<p>In honor of Veterans Day, join us for a ranger-led guided hike of the battlefield. Along the hike, guests will learn about the battle of Guilford Courthouse and how infantry tactics of the time contributed to the battle's outcome. Reenactors will provide a musket demonstration during the hike. </p>
<p>The hike is 1.5 miles. It should take about 90 minutes. </p>
<p>Note: The hike is subject to change and/or cancelation due to inclement weather, heat, or other unforeseen circumstances. Weather-appropriate clothing and closed toe shoes are recommended. Hikers should carry water.</p>
