Lowell Bird Walk

<p>Join us for a Ranger-led birding walk along Lowell’s waterways! This program will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 12th at the Boott Cotton Mills Museum, (115 John Street).</p> <p>This walk is designed for first-time birders as well as more experienced folks. Over the course of 1.5 hours and approximately 1.5 miles of walking, work with rangers to identify common birds of the area and learn the basics of birding. We will have some birding supplies on hand (such as binoculars and field guides) to lend out for the duration of the walk. Please feel free to bring your own if you have them!</p> <p>Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable walking shoes, bring plenty of water, and anything else you may need to safely enjoy your walk.</p>

Step into History Walking Tour

<p>Explore the city of Lowell through a ranger guided walk. Discover the many exciting topics that make Lowell special. From the natural environment to the Industrial Revolution to urban renewal, the city of Lowell has something for everyone.<br /><br /><strong>The Step into History Walking Tour is offered daily at 10:00 a.m. AND 1:00 p.m.<br /><br />Attendees should plan to meet at the Visitor Center front desk (246 Market Street) 15-minutes prior to the tour start time.</strong><br /><br />Visitors should plan for a 45-minute tour, all of which will be spent on your feet. Visitors can expect to walk as much a 1-mile on paved paths and are encouraged to bring water. This tour is free. Day of registration can be made at the Visitor Center front desk.</p>

Lokalizacja: This tour begins at the Park Visitor Center (246 Market Street). Validated parking is available at the Hamilton Canal Innovation District parking garage at 350 Dutton Street, Lowell. Parking in this garage (only) is available to National Park visitors at no cost provided they obtain a valid parking voucher at either the Lowell National Historical Park Visitor Center at 246 Market Street, or at the Boott Cotton Mills Museum at 115 John Street.

Late Night at the Museum: Hands-on Learning

<p>Visit the Boott Cotton Mills Museum after hours and experience the historic weave room, all free of charge. Feel the beat of the looms as you step back in time and learn about the history of Lowell's industrial revolution. Then head upstairs to explore the Tsongas Industrial History Center workshops to try your hand at weaving, engineering a vehicle, experiment on a canal system, and explore the suitcases of historic Lowell residences. Get a sneak peek of the field trip workshops that schools visit all year. This free event is part of the Night at the Museum series where you can visit the Boott Cotton Mills Museum after-hours on the third Thursday of each month to experience the museum in a new light.</p> <p>No Reservations Required <br />Boott Cotton Mills Museum, 115 John St </p>
