Guided Hike: Rinconada Canyon
<p>These weekly hikes will focus on the history, geology, and petroglyphs along the 2.2 mile loop trail at Rinconada Canyon. Binoculars are encouraged but not necessary. Bring plenty of water and good hiking shoes. Hikes will be led by park volunteer James Platt,</p>

Reading Ranger
<p>Join a Park Ranger for storytime and craft activities as a fun way to learn about Petroglyph National Monument. Children who participate in the activity will recieve a Reading Ranger badge. For ages 0-13. Event starts at 10:30 AM at the Taylor Ranch Library (5700 Bogart St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120).</p>

Fall Author Speaker Series: Dan Flores
<p>Dan Flores will present his book, <em>Coyote America, </em>which tells the story of an animal that has been a storied, charismatic character in the Pleistocene West, the Native West, and modern America. Coyotes have experienced a roller-coaster biography, seen as a sacred deity in one phase and a varmint meriting entire eradication in another. His talk with be outside on the shaded patio at the Information Center.</p>

Guided Hike: Piedras Marcadas Canyon
<p>Join Petroglyph National Monument volunteer, Dr. Weixelman, for an evening walk at Piedras Marcadas Canyon. On this 1.5-mile sandy and flat trail, you'll enjoy seeing hundreds of petroglyphs and diverse species of desert wildlife. No amenities are available. Bring plenty of water with you. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable hiking/walking shoes with good ankle support. Binoculars are helpful, but not necessary for petroglyph-viewing. Meet in the Piedras Marcadas parking lot (Jill Patricia St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114).</p>
