Caravan Tour

<p>Experience the history of the battlefield at multiple stops along the tour road. A ranger will lead the way and provide details about the significance of sites throughout the battlefield. Plan to drive from stop to stop and for the tour to last approximately hour and half.</p> <p> </p> <p>Programs may be cancelled or altered due to weather or insufficient capacity. 165th Battle Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony

<div class="x_elementToProof" data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">A Civil War color guard, the playing of “Taps” and remarks by guest speakers and battlefield staff will help commemorate the sacrifice of Union and Southern soldiers who lost their lives in the battle. The program is expected to last approximately one hour. <br /><br />Following the program, a reception hosted by the Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield Foundation will be held in the Visitor Center where light refreshments will be served.</div> <div class="x_elementToProof"><br />Other activities of the day will include:</div> <ul> <li class="x_elementToProof">The original bed from the Ray House on which the body of Union commander Brigadier General Nathaniel Lyon was placed, now on exhibit in the Visitor Center, will be reunited with the coverlet that covered the general’s body.</li> <li class="x_elementToProof">The historic Ray House will be open for tours following the ceremony until 4 p.m.</li> </ul>
