<p>Learn how to take part in one of the world's largest citizen science projects and use iNaturalist - along with an introduction to some of the plants and animals in Voyageurs National Park. BioBlitz: Light Trapping - Moths of the Northwoods

Using light trapping techniques, participants will attract and observe moths and other nocturnal species up close. BioBlitz: Bumble Bee Atlas Workshop

<p>Learn about pollinator conservation through a hands-on Bumble Bee Atlas workshop with the Xerces Society, followed by guided bee surveys in the Ethnobotanical Garden. The Minnesota Bumble Bee Atlas is a community science project focused on tracking and conserving native bumble bees. During this event, we'll provide you with hands-on experience where you’ll learn how to swing an insect net, practice photographing and identifying bumble bees, and meet fellow participants. Registration is required for this event! BioBlitz: Garden Explorer Jr. Ranger Program: The Mystery of the Manificent Plants and the Lurking Invaders

<p><span data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">Explore the ethnobotanical garden </span>and pollinator habitat as you become a Garden Explorer Jr. Ranger, l<span data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">earn how the Ojibwe and other Indigenous people have used the magnificent plants growing in the ethnobotanical garden and identify the lurking invaders that threaten the natifve plants.  Then earn your Garden Explorer Jr. Ranger badge by using your detective skills to “shop” for food, hardware items, medicine and more in the garden while keeping the invaders away from these valuable supplies.</span>This event is part of the park's weeklong BioBlitz. BioBlitz: Morning Birding Hike

<p>Start your day exploring Voyageurs National Park and listening to the songs of the birds! Join park staff to spot and listen for a variety of bird species while learning basic bird identification techniques. Binoculars will be available to borrow during the hike (limited supplies). Hike with a Geologist

<p>Join geologist and educator Chris Hemstad for a journey through 2.8 billion years of Earth’s history.</p> <p>Begin with a morning geology presentation at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center, then caravan to geologic stops before taking a short hike for a bring‑your‑own picnic lunch.
